Project Manager / IT Transformation Lead

Nordics Short-Term Trading Systems Implementation

We are implementing a new end-to-end systems solution to support its short-term trading
activities across physical power and gas markets. This role leads the project across all phases
from discovery and design through to go-live and hyper-care, working closely with business, IT,
and the selected vendor.

 

Purpose of the Role

The Project Manager / IT Transformation Lead is accountable for planning, coordinating and
delivering the full systems implementation programme, ensuring it is delivered on time, within
budget and to the required quality. The role requires deep domain knowledge of short-term
energy trading, in particular physical power markets (Nordics), combined with strong technical
literacy and stakeholder management capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across all phases: initiation, discovery, design, build, testing,
  migration and go-live
• Define and maintain a detailed project plan with clear milestones, dependencies and resource
  assignments
• Manage project budget, risk register, issue log and change control process
• Ensure delivery against schedule, budget and agreed quality standards
• Coordinate client teams (IT, front office, operations, compliance) and external vendor
  resources

Solution Design & Technical Oversight

• Drive the development of detailed functional and technical design, including data model,
  system architecture and integration landscape
• Oversee configuration of the platform for trading, forecasting, dispatch and settlement
  workflows
• Manage the design and delivery of the VPP technical platform, including HEMS/EMS
  integration and invoicing/reporting systems
• Ensure robust data migration strategy, cutover rehearsals and P&L shift assessment
  Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact between client leadership, IT, and the vendor
• Chair steering committee meetings and provide clear, concise progress reporting
• Manage escalation paths and facilitate resolution of cross-functional blockers
• Engage with regulatory and market bodies as required (e.g. Svenska kraftnat, eSett)

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks
• Establish and maintain audit logging, segregation of duties and regulatory reporting controls
  within the new system
• Support UAT planning, acceptance criteria definition and defect management
